Marion SANGLE-FERRIRE, associate professor of marketing, has just won the prize of 51st La Londe Service Conference for the best paper presented.
Founded in 1976 and organized by Aix-Marseille University, the La Londe Service Conference is one of the leading international conferences in service research. It is renowned for bringing together scholars from multiple disciplines including marketing, human resource management, operations, and strategy to advance the understanding of service phenomena through interdisciplinary dialogue.
In her paper, “Animals as Service Actors: Users’ Perceptions and Value Creation,” presents research conducted in partnership with the K-Dog programme at the Institut Curie and the Royal Canin Foundation, examining patients’ reactions to a cancer detection process involving canine odorology. The paper highlights the ambivalent effects of replacing a technological screening procedure with a non-human living service actor. This distinction recognizes both the originality of the research topic and its contribution to advancing service research.
