Thema hosts a vibrant community of PhD students from CY Cergy Paris Université and ESSEC Business School. Beyond the guidance of their thesis supervisors and advice from other researchers, they benefit from a rich seminar schedule, an individual monitoring and mentoring scheme, and a job market training program.

Thema, CYU, and ESSEC jointly operate a PhD program in Economics. During the first year of this program, students enroll in core and elective courses before completing a dissertation and receiving Master’s Degrees from both institutions. They then take advanced courses and engage in a few years of research work, until the defend their PhD thesis and obtaining PhD degrees from both institutions. You may apply to this joint program either through CYU (Master’s in Economic Analysis) or ESSEC (PhD program in Economics).
