Upcoming conferences and workshops co-organized by Thema

Thema will (co-)organize several conferences this spring, bringing together international scholars to discuss major economic challenges ranging from inequality and climate policy to the growing role of artificial intelligence in economic research.

On April 27, 2026, Grégory Verdugo will organize the REGINEQ Workshop at CY Cergy Paris University. The workshop marks the conclusion of the ANR project “Inégalités de revenu nationales et régionales : harmonisation et analyse de données de plusieurs pays.” It will present new research on the measurement and comparison of national and regional income inequalities using harmonized international datasets, bringing together collaborators involved in the project and external researchers working on inequality measurement.

On May 27–28, 2026, Thema will host the 3rd edition of the Econom’IA Conference, organized by François Maublanc (THEMA). Held at CY Cergy Paris Université (Cergy, France), the conference focuses on the interaction between economics and artificial intelligence, including the use of machine learning, text mining, and data-science tools for economic analysis. The workshop also aims to strengthen collaboration between researchers and practitioners working with AI-driven methods in economics.

Finally, from May 27–29, 2026, André de Palma (THEMA) will co-organize University of Rome Tor Vergata the SITES–AICC Conference, which will take place at Villa Mondragone in Frascati, near Rome (Italy). The conference brings together researchers working on development economics and climate change, with a particular focus on the economic challenges of climate mitigation and adaptation in a global context.

Together, these events highlight Thema’s active role in international research networks and its engagement with key economic questions such as inequality, climate policy, and the transformation of economic research through artificial intelligence.
